MSc Neuroscience
Research, living systems, signal discipline, and constraint mapping.
Mathieu Parent brings neuroscience, MBA discipline, food ingredients sales, gym operations, and digital infrastructure into one operating practice.
Mathieu Parent started with neuroscience. An MSc gave him a way to read living systems: not as smooth machines, but as networks of energy, signal, constraint, and regulation.
The MBA added the language of business: margin, structure, cadence, risk, and decision. It was not a break from science. It was the same attention applied to organizations that must sell, deliver, pay, and learn.
Twenty years of field practice did the rest. Food ingredients sales at IMCD Group and Batory Foods Canada. Co-ownership of CrossFit St-Basile-le-Grand. Digital infrastructure built by hand. Different contexts, same recurring break: the system fails at handoff.
Astrocytes & Co. comes from that line. Read the network, repair the connections, then leave the team able to operate without dependency.
The practice began with a simple observation: most business problems do not live inside one function. They live between functions. Between sales and delivery. Between price and margin. Between CRM and finance. Between founder and team.
In neuroscience, astrocytes do not perform the signal. They maintain the conditions that let neurons work. That image became an operating discipline: inspect the connective infrastructure before judging the people.
The company is treated as a living system cultivated over time. It is not purchased in a box. It is tended, pruned, measured, and then returned to the team.
Research, living systems, signal discipline, and constraint mapping.
Finance, strategy, process, governance, and decision architecture.
Food ingredients sales, industrial accounts, long cycles, and margin.
Co-ownership, retention, pricing, local operations, and daily service.
The practice is Quebec-focused, remote across Canada, and occasionally international when the context is right.
